ARA is an ARRL Special Service Club and a member club of the Foundation for Amateur Radio.
ARA sponsors the Hagerstown Hamfest and is the coordinating sponsor of the
MD/DC QSO Party. ARA conducts safety communications for the
JFK Ultra Marathon, the oldest continuous such event in the U.S. ARA also supports other public events, provides
VE Services in our area and operates 3 repeaters for area amateurs. We are also the guardians of the gravesite for Hiram Percy Maxim, the original W1AW and a founder of the ARRL.
